Home Information Packs (HIPS)

In the summer of 2007 HIPS were introduced for three and four bedroom properties, and the Government plans to extend this to all types of residential property in due course.

Some common questions about HIPs are:

What is it ?

• A pack of LEGAL information required by law to market your property.
• It includes a Local Authority Search, Water and Drainage Search and an Energy Performance Certificate.

Do you need one?

• If you are putting a 4 bedroom property on the market then “YES”.
• If you are putting a 3 bedroom property on the market from the 10th September 2007 then “YES”.
